Executive Education Healthcare Management Program in the Naveen Jindal School of Management

The Executive Education Healthcare Management Program in the Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas and VitreosHealth, an innovative provider of predictive population management software, have developed a collaborative relationship to encourage practicing physicians to adopt new business and practice management methods that promise to enhance their effectiveness as healthcare delivery and reimbursement changes focus more on the health and wellness of patient populations as well as individual patients.

Dr. Michael Deegan, Clinical Professor for Healthcare Leadership & Innovation at the Jindal School, collaborated with a national medical professional society, to design, develop and deliver a unique asynchronous online leadership & management course for practicing physicians.
The ten-month certificate program has a number of unique aspects including:
  • Asynchronous online content delivery allowing participants flexibility regarding where and when they choose to study
  • Multiple learning resources including video, case studies, articles, and active online exchanges between participants and faculty
  • Innovative content that develops the personal awareness, competencies and skills. Physicians need to achieve a competitive advantage in today’s rapidly changing healthcare environment
VitreosHealth’s (formerly PSCI Solutions) leaders were intrigued when they learned about this new educational program because they were finding potential clients had knowledge gaps regarding what it will take to successful transition from traditional fee-for-service care reimbursement models to risk / quality based care delivery and financing alternatives like bundled reimbursement, accountable care organizations and comprehensive capitation models.
They found the UT Dallas Healthcare Leadership & Management Program for Physicians has identified and addressed many of these gaps and plan on encouraging current and potential clients to enroll key organizational physician leaders in the program.

“We will offer the online UT Dallas Healthcare Leadership & Management Program to all our customers as a part of our bundled solution. Based on our customer experiences and needs, it is clear that physician education is critical for their engagement in a successful Population Health program,” said Jay Reddy, CEO of VitreosHealth.
At present the two organizations are working together to build awareness of the educational program among VitreosHealth’s clients and healthcare provider organizations. They are also exploring joint conferences and internship programs for UT Dallas students.
